Our Privacy Commitment

Unsub is built with privacy as a core principle. We believe your financial data belongs to you and only you. That's why Unsub processes everything locally in your browser - your bank statement data never leaves your device.

Data We Don't Collect

Unlike most financial apps, we deliberately don't collect:

• Your bank statement files or transaction data
• Your account numbers or balances
• Your personal financial information
• Any data that could identify your spending habits

When you upload a CSV file to Unsub, it is processed entirely within your web browser using JavaScript. The file contents are never transmitted to our servers or any third party.

Data Stored Locally

Unsub stores the following data in your browser's local storage (on your device only):

• Detected subscription information from your uploaded statement
• Your keep/cancel/remind me decisions
• Anonymous usage events (e.g., "scan completed") for improving the product

This data remains on your device and is automatically cleared after 7 days. You can manually clear it at any time using the "Clear this scan" button.

Data We May Collect

If you choose to upgrade to Unsub Pro or contact us, we may collect:

• Email address (for account management and receipts)
• Payment information (processed securely by Stripe - we don't store card details)
• Support communications

Analytics

We collect minimal, privacy-friendly analytics to understand how people use Unsub and improve the service.

What We Track

Analytics data is stored locally in your browser and includes:

• Anonymous usage events (e.g., "CSV uploaded", "subscription detected", "export clicked")
• Feature usage counts to understand which features are popular
• Error events to help us identify and fix bugs

What We Don't Track

• Your bank statement data or transaction details
• Merchant names or subscription amounts
• Personal information or identifiable data
• Your browsing history or activity outside Unsub
• Your location, IP address, or device information

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising trackers. We do not sell or share analytics data with third parties. All analytics are stored locally in your browser and automatically deleted after 7 days.

Third-Party Services

Unsub may use the following third-party services:

• Stripe - For payment processing (if you upgrade to Pro)
• Vercel - For hosting the website

These services have their own privacy policies. We select partners who share our commitment to privacy.

Your Rights

Under Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

• Know what personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your information
• Opt out of marketing communications

Since we don't collect your financial data, there's nothing to delete from our servers. To clear local data, simply use the "Clear this scan" button or clear your browser's local storage.

Security

Your data security is ensured by our architecture: since your financial data never leaves your browser, it cannot be breached from our servers. We use HTTPS encryption for all website traffic and follow industry best practices for any data we do handle.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by posting a notice on our website. Your continued use of Unsub after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
